Contemporary artists in the exhibition
Soundwalk: experience Kandinsky in an immersive space of music and sound.
Kandinsky had a close relationship with music, sound and performing arts. Especially for the Kandinsky exhibition, interdisciplinary artist Søren Siebel created a unique soundwalk: Imagining the Current-Futurenow. With vocal prompts, soundscapes and specially made compositions by five contemporary sound and one perfomance artists, the soundwalk creates a mesmerizing dialogue between sound and image.
The soundwalk is permanently available in the exhibition. There are also 12 exclusive Soundwalk live events.
H'ART Museum's first-ever exhibition in collaboration with Centre Pompidou
Kandinsky is the very first exhibition in collaboration with the Parisian art museum Centre Pompidou. The museum has the most complete collection of works by Kandinsky. This is due to the generous donation of Nina Kandinsky. She donated many of her husband’s works to the Paris museum and more than 60 works will travel to Amsterdam especially for this exhibition.
Highlight in the exhibition is the reconstruction of the Salon de Réception, consisting of murals that Kandinsky made with his students in Berlin in 1922. This installation was first reconstructed for the opening of Centre Pompidou in 1977. Now it is being shown for the second time especially for the opening of H’ART Museum also in Amsterdam
